Senior Mental Health Lead at GJA
Miss Powell is the Senior Mental Health Lead at GJA. She has undertaken numerous training courses on mental health for pupils and staff, and is currently completing the course called 'Establishing a Whole School Approach' to wellbeing. The aim of the whole school approach is that our whole community are knowledgeable and committed, talk freely about mental health, have a positive culture and reduce the stigma around mental health, and do this collaboratively. It also aims for the whole community to raise quality and standards across the entire school for wellbeing.
Mental Health First Aid Champions at GJA
Our staff have completed a recognised training course to enable them to become MHFA champions. Our MHFA champions know how to spot the signs and symptoms of mental ill health and provide help on a first aid basis. Our MHFA champions know how to recognise crucial warning signs of mental ill health and feel confident to guide our pupils to appropriate support.
Adult Mental Health First Aid Champion at GJA
Mrs Lakha is our Adult Mental Health First Aid Champion. She has been trained to identify, understand and help someone who may be experiencing a mental health issue. She is available to listen, reassure and respond. Mrs Lakha has the skills, confidence and resources to support our members of staff at GJA.
