Homework Overview
At Godolphin Junior Academy, we set homework weekly. We set three quizzes a week that are at an age appropriate level on Google Classroom. These quizzes are: Arithmetic, Comprehension and SPAG (Spelling Punctuation and Grammar). Also, the students are required to practise TimesTablesRockstars, Spelling Shed and IXL weekly. Our students also read independently at least three times a week, where this is noted in their Reading Records.
Our weekly homework is set every Friday, due for the following Friday.
Our Year 5 and 6 pupils receive 5-a-day Mathematics homework too. These 5-a-day questions are due the following day in their Mathematics lessons.
Homework Projects
At our school, we set a half termly project called 'Passport Project'. We believe that these projects enable our students to develop essential skills and encourage greater independence. Every half term, all students receive a Passport Project page based on a topic that they are studying in History, Geography or Science. The booklet contains a range of tasks and activities which have been designed to develop their skills across the curriculum. The activities also help them build connections across other subjects. We also believe that our Passport Projects provides you with the perfect opportunity to further support, engage and motivate your child in their learning.
