Therapy Sessions in the Resource Base
What Is Therapy?
Many children struggle with emotions and understanding how they feel, act, or learn. Therapy is a type of treatment and is a way to get help to deal with understanding these emotions. In therapy, children talk and learn how to work out their emotions and it helps them cope better, communicate better, and do better.
How Does Therapy Work?
In the therapy sessions, children learn by doing, by sharing activities and ideas that focus on learning the skills they need to talk through feelings and solve problems. Praise and support is given as children learn, helping children believe in themselves and find their strengths. Therapy builds helpful thinking patterns and healthy behavioral habits.
